I was introduced to eyelash extensions in my late twenties at Urban Beauty Lounge in Wembley square, CT. They are the best in the business and I drove through from Somerset West every 3 weeks for my fills. Back in 2010 lashes were not so popular as it is today and the quality of work I received was unmatched. Over the years whenever I saw a girl in the street with lashes I would always compare it to the quality of work that I was use to at UBL. Fast forward to May 2019 I needed a change professionally as I am a single mom of 2 kids and juggling a corporate job and trying to be there for my kids was impossible. Financially I was not making ends meet and so I was pleasantly surprised when I realized my lash technician and owner of UBL was offering a Lash course amongst other beauty treatment courses so I decided to take the leap and enrolled in the classic and volume lash extension course that Urban Lash and Brow Institute Institute offers. After all she is the OG of the lash industry in South Africa. Our educator took us from the very beginning and has been there every step of the way. With the very detailed manual as our bible complete with everything you need to know when starting your own lash business you are bound to be a success. There is even a guideline as how to market yourself. Once you leave the first day of training you are added to a support WhatsApp group where your educator post advise daily/ weekly on new and improved techniques as well as reminding us what not to do to ensure our clients walk out of our salons with the highest quality work on their eyes. I can honestly say I would not have been able to do this and made such a success out of my lash business if it wasn’t for the Institute. Once up and running I decided to add value services to my business and enrolled in the Brow Booster, Lash Lifting, Threading, Waxing and Tinting courses so that I can offer my clients a full service whilst under my light and I have never looked back.
