It is wise to manage your expectations with a specialised course such as Microblading… while the initial training at The Lash & Brow Institute can be completed in just a few days, it does take time and practice to become a master at it and to get your certification. This is by no means an easy course and the learning does not stop after class.

The course itself is merely the initial step comprising of 2-3 days covering theoretical training, demonstration and practical knowledge of the treatment. Plus some practical tips on working in a salon with clients.

How Soon After Training Will I Be Certified?

Eyebrow drawing is as complex as any other art form. It is never enough to just sit, listen and learn. You will need to practice, practice, practice. The skill of eyebrow drawing is crafted after long periods of practice and communication between student and teacher, which commences immediately after the initial training. Not everyone will make it.

In general, the average time necessary for gaining your certification is about 2- 3 months, between 7 – 10 Case studies as well as a few sheets of artificial skin. Our main goal in this 2 day course is to teach you how to practice. The certification process will comprise of 7 successful models, submitted via photographs. The work is either perfect or is a fail. Sometimes as few as 6 out of 10 students qualify for a certificate.

Only once you begin working will an abundance of questions appear, then you are going to need all the support you can get. Training with The Lash & Brow Institute will ensure that you get ongoing support – your trainers are never more than a phone call or Whatsapp away. The process of achieving perfection is a lifelong journey, and you’re going to want to train with someone who can go on that journey with you.

How Long Does It Take to Recover My Money from Microblading?

Microblading can be a profitable career choice if done smartly. A single Microblading treatment can take up to 120 minutes, allowing you to complete 3 – 4 procedures each day. A beautician can charge R1,200 – R2,000 per treatment, depending on their expertise and area. That means if you can perform 60 procedures per month, you could be looking at revenue of around R60,000 to R90,000 per month!

Most students start recovering their money right after completion of their course. It usually takes 3 – 10 months to practice and become proficient in the technique. You can therefore recoup your investment with relative ease within the first 6 months if you put effort into your studies and actively pursue your business plan.

Many professionals go on to join an established spa or beauty salon as Microblading experts. They usually get paid fixed wages and a percentage of commission for each treatment. These professionals usually get a lot more work than someone starting out on their own and they are able to recover the training costs much sooner as well. The Lash & Brow Institute’s relationship with The Urban Beauty Lounge means that they can provide opportunities for the students that really excel to find freelance work within the salon.
